I could tell you I'm married to a wonderful man, Barry and have two cute little boys Luke and Daniel, but thats who my family are, not who I am.
I could tell you I'm Project Co-ordinator for a helpline (www.destinyangels.org) but thats what I do, not who I am.
I could tell you I enjoy going to gigs or the movies, I enjoy meeting new people and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, but thats what I like to do, not who I am.
I could tell you I'm honest and that I prefer blunt truth to lies, but thats what I value, not who I am.
I could tell you, I love to see people set free from burdens and troubles and hate to see people suffer but thats about my purpose in life, not who I am.
I could tell you I'm often tempted by chocolate (and anything else yummy) and sometimes I procrastinate but thats about my weaknesses, not who I am.
So, who am I?
I am a Christian.
I don't just mean 'I go to church'. Going to church doesn't make me a Christian the same as going to McDonalds doesn't make me a burger.
I don't just mean 'I believe in Jesus'. Even the devil believes in Jesus.
I don't just mean 'I was born into a family of Christians'. Jesus said unless you are born again you can't even see the kingdom of God.
How can we fit in our Mums womb to be born again you might ask!?!
Jesus said "...the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3)
Being a Christian is the core of who I am. It means I centre my life on the teachings of Jesus and I live a spiritual life, not just a physical one. Not because I'm more special than some, just because I asked questions and found Jesus.
